Zarogiannis Cheese Factory has a long history in the field of cheese production, with roots that go back to 1959, when its founder, Mr. Thomas Zarogiannis, started his professional career in cheese production. Originally from Gardiki, he developed the art of cheese making from a young age, creating small cheese dairies in villages of Karditsa and Trikala, where he produced feta, kefalotyri and kasseri using traditional methods.
In 1974, production got a new impetus when Mr. Zarogiannis rented the cheese factory of the Agricultural Cooperative of Theopetra, giving his name to his products. In 1994, his son, Vassilis Zarogiannis, took over the business, maintaining the traditional character of production and introducing new methods of organization and costing. The company specialised exclusively in cheese, with continuous growth.
In 2007, the dairy was relocated to modern facilities in Peristera Kalambaka, which meet all production standards. The aim of the company is to keep the product handmade and unaltered, combining experience, art and tradition, elements that give Zarogianni cheese its uniqueness.
