In the month of August in the village of Paleomonastero the Cultural Association of Paleomonastero in cooperation with the women of the village organize the “Onion Festival”. Onion is a local product with large crops and its production has contributed greatly to the increase of the local income. Locals and visitors alike taste dishes with onion as the main ingredient, such as stew and pies. The event is accompanied by traditional dances and revival of local customs.
