Koziakas Refuge

The refuge is located on Mount Koziakas or Kerketion at the foot of the peak Astrapi or Chatzipetros (1901m), through which the European path E4 passes.
The location of the shelter, near the Bacola spring, was granted in the 1950s by royal decree to the E.M.O.T. by the actions of the late Achilleas Karanasios. The shelter was inaugurated in 1959. Since then it has been managed and maintained by local associations and bodies, with the dark spot being its destruction by fire caused by arson or the negligence of a mountaineer.
