At a distance of 43 km from Kalambaka is the village of Panagia or Nea Koutsoufliani, where the historic monastery of Limpohovo, dedicated to the Nativity of the Virgin Mary, is located.
The monastery is mentioned in 1336 in a chrysobullo of Emperor Andronikos III. The old monastery was built square around the current old church. Of this monastery, which was burnt down during the German occupation, the katholikon, a one-room, arched-roofed church, inscribed inside with an interesting iconographic programme, survives today. In the catholic is a stone inscribed with the date 1709. The carved wooden iconostasis is of the 18th century.
