It is located one kilometer northwest of the village, in a fir forest and is celebrated brilliantly by the inhabitants on June 29th, the feast of the first Apostles Peter and Paul.
By the Royal Decree of 8-7-1886 (Government Gazette 184A/11-7-1886) it was united with the other monastery of Kleinovo, the monastery of Chrysinou. Today it is dissolved and only the church (the katholikon) is preserved.
The Virgin of the iconostasis is the work of Michael Anagnostou of Demetrios Samarinaios, 1821. He certainly painted the Christ of the iconostasis, also of 1821. The other two large icons of the iconostasis were stolen on 19-11-1983 by unscrupulous sacrilegious people and replaced by modern ones.
The katholikon, the only church, is inscribed with well-preserved frescoes, made by the same hagiographer of the portable icons (Michael Anagnostis Demetriou). The year 1820 is inscribed on the frescoes of the domes.
Dated 15 June 1818, the autobiography of Paissius II of Stagios of Stagios (1784-1808) is written in the niche of the deacon’s chair and in 40 miniature verses. The older date, 15 January 1789, is inscribed on the iconostasis, which is carved in wood and of quite good art.
Here there is the famous inscription (verses of Saint Zosima) “in Greek, simple and Vlachikon”.
