Meeting at Alexiou bridge
This is the second section of the Upper Acheloos (Aspropotamos) to the artificial dam of Mesochora. Gradually and as we descend the river, the valley of Aspropotamos opens up more and more, revealing a truly unique view of the surrounding peaks of central Pindos, a view that accompanies us to the end of the route, leaving us speechless! A pleasant visual surprise at every turn. The waters are blue and clear. The usual stop for a drink and a dip. The area, which this part of the river runs through, is noticeably isolated and gives you the feeling that you are in some other mountainous country, far away and unknown! Someone had said it reminded him of something from the highlands of Nepal. He was not wrong. Those of you who have travelled to one of these countries for mountain tourism would probably agree with this observation. But all of you, we are sure, will experience something different crossing the river through this unique place.
We finish just before the dam of Mesochora.
