3 competitions are organized by the GGN:
Contest 1: Earth Visual Odissey (open to all)
Contest 2: Stone’s stories (open to all)
Contest 3: The 5 senses of your Geopark (only for youth 12-18 years old)
Extended deadline for submissions until 31 March 2025
The winners will be nominated at the end of May 2025
The 3 contest are promoted through a specific new website: https://ggn20anniversary.com/
This site, designed for public access, offers comprehensive information necessary for the participation of the population within a geopark (including competition rules, FAQs, and application registration). It has been translated into 33 languages, accessible either through a drop-down menu or via direct web addresses. Please note that two languages, Swahili and Mapudugun, are only accessible through direct web addresses as they could not be integrated into the drop-down menu.
Call to Geoparks to host the winners of the GGN contests
The GGN Executive Board would like to invite Geoparks to host the winners of the GGN contests the ‘Earth Visual Odyssey’ photo contest and the ‘Stone’s Stories’ contest. Geoparks willing to participate should offer:
- 5 days’ stay (accomodation local transportation in the Geopark and meals) to one of the winners including geopark attractions access and guided tours.
- The GGN will cover the travel expenses to the Geopark for the winners.
- The GGN will promote the winners and the inviting Geoparks through its communication
channels (Facebook, videos, etc.).
Please let submit your interest, as soon as possible, and no later than January 31, 2025.
