The Geopark of Pyli-Meteora, in cooperation with the Municipality of Meteora and the Museum of Geological Formations Meteora, in view of the UNESCO World Geodiversity Day, celebrated on 4 October 2024, organized with great success an event in which participated students of schools in the wider area and beneficiaries of the Social Welfare Centre of Thessaly Region, Branch Disabled Trikala. Participants had the opportunity to tour the museum, where they learned about the geological heritage of the region and participated in interactive workshops with practical exercises, which helped them to better understand the geological phenomena. The excellent quality of the exhibits, the appropriately designed and accessible environment, as well as the excellent reception and guidance, provided the participants with a pleasant and interesting museum experience.
The event concluded with informative discourses on environmental protection and the importance of geodiversity in sustainable development. The visitors left with positive impressions, expressing their enthusiasm and satisfaction for participating in this special learning experience.
