Local Product Exhibition Held in Kastraki, Kalampaka
The unique flavours, tradition and experience in production, but also the unique environment that produces excellent products, were presented to the residents and visitors of the area by the producers of the Meteora Meteora Gate Geopark. In a unique location, under the sacred rocks of Meteora, the producers of local products presented their unique flavours and had the opportunity to meet with residents and visitors.
The exhibition was organized on the occasion of the International Day of “Mother Earth” in the context of promoting the objectives of the Meteora – Pyli Geopark, in cooperation with the Region of Thessaly and the Municipalities of Meteora and Pyli. On the day of St. George, at the central square in Kastraki, where the memory of “St. George of Mandila” is traditionally celebrated, the producers of local products produced in the Meteora Geopark of Meteora – Pyli had the opportunity to “share” the unique flavours produced by their place with the visitors. Hundreds of people tasted the flavours, “got acquainted” with the Meteora – Pyli Geopark and had the opportunity to combine tradition with the dynamic future that the participation of the geopark in the UNESCO World Network promises for the region.
Participating producers included:
- Nektar Meteoron (honey)
- Pergantis Cellar (distilled spirits)
- Athamania Fish Farm (trout)
- Tsardakas Winery (wine)
- Angelos Patsiantzis (wood carvings)
